To achieve parity in economic opportunity for people of color by advancing multiracial leadership in corporate governance, expanding the talent pipeline for executive-level management, and growing minority businesses.
A Chicago region that is the most inclusive business ecosystem in the nation.
2022-2024 STRATEGIC PLAN
To have the greatest beneficial impact in the business environment, we take a holistic view in developing sustainable diversity. For that reason we focus on five key interrelated areas of multiracial leadership:
Advocate for Access and Opportunity
Leveraging CEO influence in order to advance access and opportunity for people of color in corporate America.
Accelerate Inclusive Leadership
Increase within our member companies’ diverse representation on boards, executive and mid-level management, and emerging leaders.
Cultivate a thriving minority business community
To see more growth in the number of MBE launches and partnerships.
Be the Thought Leader
Establish Chicago United as a source of primary research and a DEI data clearinghouse.
Build Our Brand
Communicating the impact of Chicago United and our programming to build brand awareness.
The 1968 riots that followed the tragic death of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. prompted top business leaders to discuss solutions to local economic instability and racial unrest, thereby launching Chicago United.
