| What Is BoardLink?
BoardLink is an electronic referral source where…
| • |
Not-for-profit organizations
in search of racially/ethnically diverse board members
can post their openings. |
| • |
Leaders of color looking for
board positions can post their availability. |
Both groups will have access to search through
listings, share information with one another and, most importantly, connect.
Purpose:
With BoardLink, Chicago United will help leading
organizations more easily engage Chicago’s leaders of color in places where
they can impact the organization’s mission and provide needed diversity
to the city’s preeminent boards.
Currently, there is no such referral source available to the city’s not-for-profit sector.
Mission:
The mission of BoardLink is…
| • |
To connect emerging leaders
of color with the not-for-profit boards that will benefit from these individuals'
unique perspectives and abilities. |
| • |
To provide emerging leaders of color with
board experience to support their professional development. |
Pilot
Phase: During the pilot phase, BoardLink is only available to Chicago United member company employees and Chicago United member company grantee non-profit organizations.
